This is my debut into the world of blogging. Hi everybody! Or rather, Hi single reader. Thanks so much for your time.
Today is Friday, May 30. My last day as a Chicagoan. We are finally making our big move to Missouri. What wonderful adventures await me in the land of Show-Me? That remains to be seen. But what is certain is that in a few short weeks, Matt will graduate for real (goodbye law school!) and in a few short months he will be a real professional lawyer man. This is good news for me because it means he can start paying me back (with interest) for all my hard work these past five years. But all that is in the future. For today, I'm contemplating what it feels like to be saying goodbye to the old life.
Goodbye to fighting with scary strangers for a parking spot half a mile away.
Goodbye to saving my laundry for only once every two months to avoid the laundry room of our apartment building.
Goodbye to working thankless jobs for which I am overqualified and underpaid. (oh wait, that's probably not over!)
Goodbye to sub zero temperatures from October to May.
Goodbye to paying $4 for a gallon of milk and $5 for a gallon of gas.
Goodbye to our dear friends - we feel so lucky to have known you.
Goodbye to our cozy Hyde Park apartment - we've had such happy times here!
Goodbye to the awesome Chicago pizza.
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye!
To the new life: Meet me in St. Louiee, Louiee... We'll see you there!
