I am currently reading a parenting book that references as part of its theory Roussea's philosophies of child raising in which the child is immersed in nature with very little interference by the parent. It also encourages the parent to be as uninvolved as possible in general while keeping the child reasonably healthy and safe. (It's called The Idle Parent, have you heard of this?)

That is a parenting philosophy that I might actually be able to live by! (and may already be following some of its precepts... no one needs to tell me to read a book while my kids are playing! ...Ahem. Not that I ever do that. Actually, since you ask, I usually play chess with them while singing opera and giving them acupuncture treatments. They're very well cared for.)

(See you around, "Cack Cack.")

Exploring the wilderness of my mother's front yard.
We plan to release Milo back into the wild any day now. I think Roussea would be pleased.

haha! if he's not ready for re-release yet we have a couple empty exhibits in our zoo. We could label him homo sapien adorablis! His diet will consist of cut up hot dogs and marshmallows, and for enrichment we will leave little toy trucks.
