(old picture I never posted from Christmas - I like Matt's Harry Potter hair)
My two best guys had birthdays this month! The first was Matt. We kept it pretty low key. I've been sick sick sick so the energy level has been down. But I did muster up the creative juices to keep my annual Matt-hobby-themed cake tradition. Here it is:

I tried to make it match his real life piano which he's been completely obsessed with ever since he got it in November. As far as Matt hobbies go it's not so bad. It's loud but it at least keeps him in the house. Anyway, it's fun to celebrate another year of Matty J - even if I didn't get to take him to Mexico for the weekend.
The other important birthday was little Milo. He turned one! I'm so proud. We kept his party pretty low key too, but I couldn't resist going all out for Milo's cake too. His little party was dinosaur themed so this is what I came up with:
I love this kiddo.
(Opening presents)
Milo eats the dino cake. The dino was pretty gruesome looking by the time we were done with it. Disturbing. Maybe I'll stick to inanimate objects for my cake subjects from now on...
At the party Milo discovered a new love. Balloons.
I was glad to catch a picture of these two - usually Poppy is behind the camera...
And I had to include this last one my Dad photoshopped of little Lotus floating away. Goodbye Lotus! Thanks for coming to our party!![]()
Pregnancy Update: Thanks for all the concern about my pregnancy sickness. I am glad to report that though I had a solid six weeks of sheer morning sickness misery, now that I am in the second trimester things are slowing down. The zofran is working better for me this time around and all in all this pregnancy has been not quite so intense as the first one. So I have lots to be grateful for. But word to the wise: If you are someone who gets morning sickness you may want to wait to get pregnant until you don't have to change your older kid's poopy diapers three times a day.

Wow, those are some impressive cakes. And how did I miss the announcement?!? Congratulations!!
Ahhh love it! love both your cakes (wow), and love the pictures of Milo. It's kinda creepy - he looks like me as a baby in some of those pictures... or rather, I looked like him. :) Your Milo party looks like a great success, despite the loss of Lotus, "Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree" style.
Happy birthday boys! That picture is awesome. Thanks Agent Mike!
SO cute. Emily, you just look great. The cakes are beautiful too.
