Sorry for the radio silence over the past few weeks. What can I say? Traveling, kids, general mommy lethargy for anything other than preparing peanut butter sandwiches and filling up the kiddie pool.

Our dear Jenny ("Geh-ee" -Milo) is off traipsing about England. We miss her and talking on Skype is just not the same as having her here with us. Before she left we all went to the Magic House (Children's Museum) and had a jolly good time (sorry, trying to get into the British spirit).

Note my look of disgust as Milo takes a drink from the water play table. (Why is it that in situations like this they act as though you never feed or water them? It's like, "Ooo! Play-doh! Finally something decent to eat!")

I don't know why, but this picture just tickles me. I know all babies love looking at themselves in the mirror but it's just so sweet to see Walter do it. He's just completely delighted with his little mirror-friend (I call him "Walter in Wonderland"). And shouldn't we all be good friends with the person in the mirror? Cute little Dubbs.
As mentioned in an earlier post, Milo has entered THE TRAIN PHASE. We tried to comply with his obsession by taking him to the transportation museum but he wasn't impressed. Our working theory is that Milo thinks that trains are little toys that roll and have faces and not that they are a real life phenomenon. He seemed to have no idea that these huge engines were the same thing as his toys and Thomas.

Last weekend we went to Minnesota to see Grandma Sue and co. and she took him to ride the train (it's the Metro, right Sue?) but he again seemed confused and somewhat concerned by the whole process and didn't seem to make the connection. Oh well, good try, Grandma!

Milo boldly climbing the stairs to the baby water slide. He got a bit apprehensive at the top though. But every other aspect of the pool was completely un-intimidating.

I don't love the crawling stage, but I thought we'd get to enjoy it for a few months at least. But no.

This kid wants to move. He's 8 months old and he has already thrown himself out of his crib. He pulls himself up to standing at every possible opportunity. Every time I go to get him from a nap he is standing up in his (now lowered) crib. He stands at this gate to the kitchen (pictured) and just shakes the bars and shouts with glee over his new found skills. It is crazy! He is so tiny and it just looks weird to see him doing this stuff. As I said to Matt, it's like living with a possessed doll. But being left behind is not an option for this guy. If Milo can do it, So. Can. He.

Would you mess with anyone who was giving you that look? He's a brave brave boy.
