Vampire Baby

Why I'm sure my baby is a vampire:

  • The doctor told me I need to be drinking more water now that the baby is using up all of my blood

  • Ever since I found out about this baby I've been sick, tired and cranky. The only reason there can be for this is that my baby is sucking the life out of me.

  • Even though the baby is only three inches long it is stronger than me and steals all my food.

  • Conversation I had with Matt the other day:

Matt: What should I have for dinner?

Emily: PLEASE nothing with garlic! (Thinking of a night a few weeks ago where the smell of a garlic hot pocket made me puke my guts out all night)

Matt: Yeah, you don't like garlic at all, do you?

Emily: It's not me, It's the baby!

Matt: Maybe it's a vampire...

Emily: Like Edward! (under the breath) The real father...

Matt: What?

Emily: Nothing!

END SCENE

Ok, so I don't really think my baby is a vampire. But if it were then I would already have it by now. Apparently vampires only take about a month to develop. No, this baby is human. Unless there's something Matt's not telling me. And I'll be honest, I don't think I'd want Edward anyway. He's fun to read about but that's way too much drama for real life. I'm happy with the man I've got.

Poor guy, he's not that happy with me - because of my vampire victim qualities I am no fun at all these days. I do not leave the house, I do not stay up past 8, I do not allow him to eat around me, and sometimes I throw up after talking to him. It isn't romantic. What can I do to make this easier for him? I didn't realize how much the baby would affect our relationship months and months before it is born! On monday I will be 14 weeks along. How much longer can this intense illness last? 3 weeks? 5? The very thought gives me shivers. Some people stay sick ALL NINE MONTHS. I can't do it. I just can't.

What are some good ways to distract a sad boy like Matt? (Keep in mind it's hard to play tennis when it's 30 degrees out - not impossible, but hard)

P.S. THANK YOU for the support and love everyone. It means so much to hear from you all and get your perspectives. It helps more than you know! xoxo

If your baby looks at all like the cute vampire one at the top, really can it be that bad?
Em it'll all be over soon & this will be a memory & believe it or not, you'll forget how bad it really was. Really, it HAS to end some time!

I applaud your retention of your sense of humor! :)
And for Matt, I recommend . . . umm . . . War and Peace?

You can send Matt to my house and I will distract him. Or I can come over and beat him at table tennis.
